Every minute of every day, another 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube with 80% of the traffic from outside the US. The platform supports 61 languages.
Created in 2007, the YouTube Partner Platform allows more than a million content creators from over 30 countries around the world to earn money from their YouTube videos. Thousands of these "user channels" are making more than $100,000 a year.  
Besides being a free medium over which to broadcast, when the best ads go viral, they are able to connect with consumers in a way they could never attain on traditional broadcast medium.
